MARK BOERGERS.

Director. Actor. Teacher. Theater Practitioner.

Mark.

Welcome! I am a Theater Practitioner with varied experience in many facets of the business.  An accomplished Director, Actor, Teacher, Coach, and Playwright who has lived and worked in Milwaukee, Chicago, Los Angeles and Oxford, UK, I am always thirsty for each new exciting endeavor.  Passionate about Craft, I am constantly looking to collaborate with motivated artists to illuminate our unique potential for expression.

I am a full time professor of Theater, Chair of Visual and Performing Arts and the Artistic Director of the Theater Program at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. I am also the Artistic Director of The Arc Theatre based in Chicago, IL. I graduated from Marquette University with a double major in Business and Theatre and received my Masters in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University.  I’ve worked in many areas of the business including professional acting and directing, personal audition and on-camera coach, Artistic Director of a small Chicago theatre company, Co-curator of Shakespeare on the Ridge in Evanston, IL, Casting Associate at Paskal-Rudnicke Casting in Chicago casting commercials, film and television projects such as “Chicago Fire” and “Shameless”, and even 3 years working for an International Investment Banking Company.

My varied background and interests have taken me on a journey of gaining knowledge and meeting artists of all kinds which has led to a respect for learning with both sides of the brain and a renewed commitment to the basics of craft: story and relationship.  In addition, I have developed a great love for the artist’s brain and creativity, and an acuity for facilitating the expression of that gift.
